Soon, we will launch our new Authorization Service. This announcement is particularly important for shipper administrators who will be responsible for managing these new features.
These improvements will provide a more intuitive and fine-grained process to manage your users' access rights to platform features.
What will change in your admin work?
With our new permission management solution, you will have a more transparent and detailed tool to authorize your company users to access certain platform functionalities. You will manage these authorizations through Permission Groups.
As such, there are two types of permission groups: Standard and Custom Permission Groups.
The former are created and managed by PRISMA to make your work as smooth and easy as possible. Each standard group consists in a set of permissions compiled by our experts based on their thorough research about the most common use cases. Therefore, these groups offer you a one-click package of relevant permissions for specific use-case – for instance, Invoice Manager, Standard Shipper, Shipper Admin and Standard TSO and so forth.
In contrast, custom permission groups are your playground. Here, you can fine-tune every available permission to match your specific use case. One of the PRISMA-managed groups cover almost all relevant permissions, but not quite? No problem! Just create a custom permission group (or copy an existing one) and add or remove permissions as you see fit.
What are your admin responsibilities and will anything change for existing user?
We are pleased to assure that the migration process to the new authorization service will be, by and large, untroubled. No disruption to your everyday work is expected, as all existing users will be seamlessly migrated to the new solution. This means all existing users will retain the same access and permissions they already have on the day the new solution is launched.
However, any users you add after the go-live will not belong to any permission group. This means that, in the future, all newly added users will have to be specifically assigned to a permission group by you or another admin. Otherwise, they will be able to log in, but not do much else, until you grant them the permission to access other functionalities. You can also upgrade other company users to admin status. You can find the instructions on how to do so here.
