Leipzig / Denmark, November 19, 2025 – PRISMA European Capacity Platform GmbH announces that the PRISMA platform will serve as the capacity booking system for Energinet’s upcoming hydrogen capacity sale on the Danish Hydrogen Backbone 1 (DHB1).

The Danish Hydrogen Backbone 1 is Energinet’s first large-scale hydrogen transmission infrastructure project, designed to establish new and repurposed pipelines in western Denmark that connect offshore wind and solar-based hydrogen production with domestic demand centers and export routes toward Germany, with initial operations planned for 2030.

All market participants intending to book hydrogen transport capacity for DHB1 in 2026 will use the registration and booking functions through PRISMA’s established IT-infrastructure, marking an important step toward a unified and interoperable digital system for European hydrogen capacity allocation.

With this initiative, PRISMA further expands its expertise from natural gas into hydrogen markets. The PRISMA platform provides a proven, cloud-based environment for harmonized capacity booking processes, supporting operators as Europe builds its integrated hydrogen infrastructure.

About the Hydrogen Capacity Sale

The hydrogen capacity sale is expected to open on January 30, 2026, with capacity allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. The deadline for submitting capacity requests is December 1, 2026.

Registration will be open from November 24, 2025, and market participants must complete their registration on PRISMA no later than October 30, 2026. Also, they have to inform Energinet of their intention to book hydrogen capacity by email at capacitysaleDHB1@energinet.dk.

Participants who are already registered on PRISMA do not need to register again, but still they must inform Energinet by email.

0.5 GW Booking Requirement

Energinet has clarified how the politically determined 0.5 GW booking requirement must be met:

• Capacity can be booked from the end of 2030.

• Total bookings of 500 MWh/h lower heating value (590 MWh/h higher heating value) per year must be fulfilled for both entry and exit for at least 10 consecutive years from 2031 through 2040.

• Although the requirement is formally linked to commissioning, the planned commissioning in late 2030 means it effectively applies from 2031 onward.

• The requirement must be fulfilled each year from 2031 through 2040, not averaged across the period.

• Ten consecutive years of bookings satisfy the minimum criteria set in the political agreement (10–15 years).

• Participants may book annual capacity for up to 15 years, through 2045.

Der Danish Hydrogen Backbone 1 wird exklusiv über die PRISMA-Plattform vermarktet

Leipzig / Dänemark, 19. November 2025 – Die PRISMA European Capacity Platform GmbH freut sich bekanntzugeben, dass die PRISMA-Plattform als Kapazitätsbuchungssystem für Energinets bevorstehenden Verkauf von Wasserstofftransportkapazitäten auf dem Danish Hydrogen Backbone 1 (DHB1) eingesetzt wird.

Der Danish Hydrogen Backbone 1 ist Energinets erstes groß angelegtes Wasserstofftransportprojekt. Es umfasst neue sowie umgenutzte Leitungen in Westdänemark und verbindet wasserstoffbasierte Erzeugung aus Wind- und Solaranlagen mit industriellen Verbrauchszentren sowie Exportkorridoren nach Deutschland. Die Inbetriebnahme ist für 2030 geplant.

Marktteilnehmer, die 2026 Transportkapazitäten auf DHB1 buchen möchten, nutzen dafür die Registrierungs- und Buchungsfunktionen der etablierten PRISMA-IT-Infrastruktur. Damit entsteht ein weiterer Baustein für ein einheitliches, digitales und interoperables Kapazitätsvergabesystem im europäischen Wasserstoffmarkt.

Mit dieser Zusammenarbeit erweitert PRISMA seine langjährige Expertise aus dem Erdgasmarkt konsequent auf den Wasserstoffsektor. Die Plattform bietet eine bewährte, cloudbasierte Umgebung für harmonisierte Prozesse und unterstützt Netzbetreiber beim Aufbau einer integrierten europäischen Wasserstoffinfrastruktur.

Über den Wasserstoff-Kapazitätsverkauf

Der Start des Kapazitätsverkaufs ist für 30. Januar 2026 vorgesehen; die Vergabe erfolgt nach dem Prinzip „first come, first served“. Kapazitätsanfragen können bis zum 1. Dezember 2026 eingereicht werden.

Die Registrierung ist ab dem 24. November 2025 möglich und muss spätestens am 30. Oktober 2026 abgeschlossen sein. Zusätzlich müssen Marktteilnehmer Energinet per E-Mail über ihre Buchungsabsicht informieren: capacitysaleDHB1@energinet.dk.

Bereits auf PRISMA registrierte Unternehmen müssen sich nicht erneut anmelden, sind jedoch ebenfalls verpflichtet, Energinet per E-Mail zu informieren.

0,5-GW-Buchungspflicht

Energinet hat präzisiert, wie die politisch festgelegte Buchungspflicht von 0,5 GW zu erfüllen ist:

• Kapazität kann ab Ende 2030 gebucht werden.
